My Body is Not in Question is an ongoing body of work that encourages participants to respectfully explore their wellbeing, sexual health, and reproductive rights through a series of visuals. Initially, this project was focused toward female identifying individuals, however, I am now striving to develop a more inclusive outreach in order to welcome and uplift all voices that haven’t always had a seat at the table. The objective is to encourage reflection that empowers participants to advocate for their needs in a society where their social power, rights, and privileges are not always considered and are, at times, dismissed.
Participants are invited to explore and (re)interpret their bodies using their own perspective, to understand their rights to their bodies, and finally, to have a space to articulate their views on reproductive health. With this material, I hope to create an archive that can function as a resource for communities and eventually have an impact on public policy.
For the 3 visuals that I created, click here. For best results, print them double-sided on 8.5 x 11 paper in black and white. If you fill them out, please share them with me at mybodyisnotinquestion@gmail.com so I can include them in the archive.
Download and distribute the zine! For best results, print on 11 x 17 paper in color. Instructions for folding the zine can be found here, credit to Nashville Public Library.
